Who we are

This website is operated by Awaike, a strategic advisory consultancy founded by Tim Wakeham and based in the United Kingdom. References to "Awaike", "we", "us" or "our" in this policy refer to Awaike.

What data we collect and why

We collect a minimal amount of data, and only for legitimate purposes. Here is what we collect and why:

• Analytics data — if you consent, we use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to collect anonymised information about how visitors use this website, including pages visited, time on site, and general location (country/region level). This helps us understand what content is useful and improve the site over time.
• Contact enquiries — if you email us via the contact links on this site, we receive your email address and the contents of your message. We use this solely to respond to your enquiry.
• Consent preference — we store your cookie consent choice (accept or decline) in your browser's local storage so we don't ask you again on future visits. This does not leave your device.

Our legal basis under UK GDPR

We process personal data only where we have a lawful basis to do so:

• Consent — analytics cookies are only set if you explicitly accept them via our cookie banner. You can withdraw consent at any time (see below).
• Legitimate interests — responding to email enquiries you initiate is in our legitimate interest and yours.

Google Analytics 4

If you consent to analytics, we use Google Analytics 4 to collect anonymised usage data. Google may process data on servers outside the UK. Google LLC is certified under the UK-US Data Bridge framework.

GA4 does not collect personally identifiable information. IP addresses are anonymised. We do not use GA4 for advertising, remarketing, or any purpose other than understanding site usage.

Cookies and local storage

This site uses the following:

• awaike_cookie_consent — stored in browser local storage. Records whether you accepted or declined analytics cookies. Not a cookie; never transmitted to any server.
• Google Analytics cookies — only set if you accept analytics. These include _ga and _ga_HC108MRD49, which help distinguish unique visitors. They expire after 2 years.

No other cookies are set by this website.

How to withdraw consent or manage cookies

You can withdraw your analytics consent at any time by clearing your browser's local storage and cookies for awaike.co.uk. The consent banner will reappear on your next visit.

You can also opt out of Google Analytics tracking across all websites using the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

Most browsers allow you to control cookies through their settings. Blocking all cookies may affect the functionality of some websites.

Data retention

Analytics data is retained in Google Analytics for 14 months, after which it is automatically deleted.

Email enquiries are retained only as long as necessary to handle your request and any reasonable follow-up period. We do not add you to any mailing list without your explicit agreement.

As a UK resident, you have the following rights in relation to your personal data:
